Phoebe Cates was the ultimate girl next door in the ’80s and ’90s, starring in a range of teen movies, including Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982), Gremlins (1984) and Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990).
In 1989, she married Oscar-winner Kevin Kline and in 1991 — the same year Drop Dead Fred was released — the couple welcomed a son, Owen, now 29. Three years later, they welcomed a daughter, Greta, now 27 and is a musician who goes by the name Frankie Cosmos.
Shortly after Greta’s birth, Cates, now 57, took a break from the spotlight to focus on her family. Since then, she has only starred in two projects: the 2001 film The Anniversary Party and she also voiced her Gremlin’s s character, Kate Beringer, in the 2015 video game Lego Dimensions.
