Erika Jayne Tries to Stop Investigation into Finances Amid Thomas’ Bankruptcy Case

Erika Jayne is trying to stop a potential investigation into her finances.

Amid the ongoing bankruptcy case against her estranged husband, attorney Thomas Girardi, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member has filed an objection, claiming she has no community property in her possession and asking the court to block a trustee from hiring attorney Ronald Richards.

In court documents obtained by Radar Online, which were filed one month after the trustee asked for permission to hire the attorney to investigate transfers they believe Thomas made to Erika in an attempt to hide money from creditors, Erika fought back.

According to Erika, she believes the trustee is attempting to launch an investigation against her even though he can’t name any specific assets she received from Thomas. She also feels that hiring Ronald would be a conflict of interest because he’s currently representing plaintiffs in another case against her spouse.

Erika went on to accuse the attorney of “promoting himself with tabloid-style publicly on social media, rather than maintaining the decorum appropriate to litigants before a bankruptcy court.” She also claimed that she “does not have any community property in possession (except for certain household items) and that what she does have were alleged gifts from” Thomas.

As RHOBH fans may have seen, Ronald has shared frequent updates on the many cases against both Erika and her estranged husband in recent weeks. In fact, as her motion revealed, Ronald has shared “at least 290 social media posts about this case and/or Erika” since December 2020.

Weeks ago, as Thomas faced accusations of having transferred over $20 million to Erika, a trustee said in court documents, “Continuing investigation may reveal that assets of the Debtor were transferred to Erika Girardi (aka Erika Jayne), Thomas Girardi’s Spouse, either directly or to one or more people or entities on her behalf, or to other transferees of assets from Erika Girardi or her related entities (the “Erika Transfers”).”

A judge has not yet ruled on either request.
