It was announced last year that Gareth Edwards would be helming a new sci-fi film, which will be his first project since the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story close to five years ago, and now Deadline has reported that John David Washington (Tenet) has signed on to star.
Not much is known about the project — titled True Love — only that it’s being described as a “near future sci-fi story” that will be written and directed by Gareth Edwards. The project is set up at New Regency, who will produce and finance the film. As for the delay between Rogue One and True Love, Edwards had reportedly been developing several projects but wanted to make sure that he picked the right one before signing on; it would seem that True Love is that project.
