It’s over. Katie Holmes and New York City chef Emilio Vitolo Jr. have split after eight months of dating.
According to Us Weekly, a spokesperson for the actress says “the pair have parted ways amicably but remain friends.”
The Dawson’s Creek star and Vitolo, 33, reportedly struggled to keep their relationship alive due to their busy careers, but there is no bad blood between them.
“Their relationship fizzled. They figured out they’re better off as friends,” a source told Us Weekly. “There’s no drama that went down with the breakup and in fact, they’re still friends.
“Katie and Emilio really enjoyed their time together — it just simply didn’t work out. She’s focusing on being a mum and her upcoming projects.”
Reports of their split surfaced last month when the chef was notably absent from Holmes’ daughter’s birthday celebration.
“Katie has a lot of big priorities in her life — she’s a single mum, her daughter [Suri] always comes first and things were moving very fast,” a source told Page Six at the time.
Holmes and Vitolo were first linked as a couple after they were spotted together in September 2020. The pair were also seen on a date at Peasant restaurant in Manhattan. Their relationship went Instagram official in December when the chef posted a photo for Holmes’ birthday, calling her “the most amazing, kindest, beautiful person.”
The actress previously dated Jamie Foxx, but they called off their private romance back in August 2019 after six years together.
Holmes shares daughter Suri with ex-husband Tom Cruise, to whom she was married from 2006 to 2012.
