Edward Furlong was one of Hilton’s first big-name boyfriends.
Before she opted for The Simple Life with best friend Nicole Richie, Hilton was living it up in the Hollywood clubs in 2000, hanging with the likes of the Terminator 2: Judgment Day star.

“No, we’re not married, but he is my boyfriend,” Hilton told the New York Post at the time. “We’ve been going steady together for about a month.”
Hilton dated Rick Salomon from late 2000 to mid-2001. But unfortunately, they will forever be linked as it was the film producer and entrepreneur who famously distributed her sex tape 1 Night In Paris in 2003, two years after their breakup.
“It was my first real relationship. Eighteen. I was so in love with him and I wanted to make him happy,” she recalled in her documentary This Is Paris released in September 2020. “And I just remember him pulling out the camera. And he was kind of pressuring me into it. It was like being electronically raped.
“That was a private moment of a teenage girl, not in her right headspace, but everyone was watching it and laughing like it’s something funny. I would say that the tape is something that I will regret for the rest of my life. I was a teenager; I was in love. I trusted the wrong person. And I let that happen.”
Salomon was then married to Beverly Hills, 90210 star Shannen Doherty between 2002 and 2003 and Pamela Anderson from 2007 and 2008. He and the Baywatch star remarried in 2014 but split for good the following years.
Hilton was Paris was just 21 when she dated model Jason Shaw, who was eight years older.
The pair dated between 2002 and were also engaged to be married, but they split in 2003.
They’ve remained friends ever since as were even rumoured t have reconciled in 2010 but ultimately Hilton was just oo young to settle down.
“Paris has always loved Jason and cared about him deeply,” a source told E! News at the time. “But when they were together she was just a kid and not ready for such a commitment.”
Shortly after breaking off her engagement, Hilton briefly dated Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley.
The rocker later told Howard Stern that they “hung out” for six months in 2003, but never dated exclusively.
Whibley — who went on to marry singer Avril Lavigne in 2006 — told Livewire that he and Hilton cut off ties completely one year after their fling.
“Uh, no,” he said in 2004 when asked if they still spoke. “If I saw her, I would, but I don’t talk to her on the phone or anything.”
The Simple Life premiered in 2003 and Hilton was the girl of the moment. She met her match in Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis and the pair enjoyed a hot and heavy romance that year.
“Paris is indomitable,” Francis told People, adding his then-girlfriend was “a handful”.
“You can’t date Paris seriously without drama.”
Backstreet Boys Nick Carter was Hilton’s boyfriend for seven months before their messy 2004 breakup. And when he reflected on their brief relationship in his 2013 autobiography Facing the Music and Living to Talk About It, Carter looked back with regret.

“Paris was the worst person in the world for me to hook up with,” he wrote. “[She] fed my worst impulses as far as partying.”
Their brief relationship was thrown the ultimate curveball when Hilton’s ex Rick Salomon released the infamous sex tape.
Cheating allegations were flung when Hilton and Carter split, with the singer accusing her of cheating on him with her House of Wax co-star Chad Michael Murray, who was married to Sophia Bush at the time.
Chad Michael Murray
Hilton and actor Chad Michael Murray reportedly had a fling while filming the horror movie House of Wax in Australia in 2004. It’s believed to be the reason wife Sophia Bush had their marriage annulled after just five months.
While Murray has never confirmed the reports, he did say in a 2011 interview that he was a reformed man.
“Um, you know, I was a kid,” he told E! News of his past. “And I guess I just I didn’t see things as clear as I wish I did. I was just living my life, going out, and I changed everything.”
“When you’re young and you’re thrown into something that I was definitely not ready for — I’m human and screw up. I’m glad I went through it, I really am, because I wouldn’t have come out the other side.”
When Paris met Paris! Hilton started dating Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis in late 2004 and eight months later they were engaged.
According to reports, Latsis proposed by presenting Hilton with a selection of 15 different engagement rings from jewellers such as Tiffany & Co. and Harry Winston, with one rock said to be a whopping 15 carats.

“I’m so in love and grateful to have found such an honest and loyal person,” Hilton told Us Weekly at the time. “I feel like we were meant to be, and I’m happy to have found someone to spend the rest of my life with.”
Sadly, they never made it down the aisle as they ended their engagement in September 2005.
“I’m sad to announce that I’ve called off my engagement,” she said in a statement. “Over the last couple months, I’ve realised that this is the right decision for me. We remain best of friends, and I’ll always love him. I hope people will respect my privacy during this emotional time.”
The shipping heir also released a statement of his own, writing, “Right now is a very tough time for me. I love Paris very much. This was the best experience of my life.”
From one Greek shipping heir to another. Hilton’s next relationship was with Stavros Niarchos III, the son of a billionaire shipping tycoon. She was spotted with him partying with him just hours after confirming her breakup with Paris Latsis.
Niarchos was apparently dating actress Mary-Kate Olsen, from April 2005 for five months before he moved on with Hilton. Naturally, this angered the Full House alum.
“[Paris and I] always only had nice things to say about each other,” Olsen told W magazine in December 2005. “Now I guess you can tell we’re not talking.”
Hilton and Niarchos dated on and off between 2005 and 2007, before ending things for good in March that year.
In 2007, Hilton was linked to actor Josh Henderson. The Desperate Housewives alum was seen hanging out with Hilton all over LA for months, sparking dating speculation.
But they seemed to have lost touch after she was jailed for 45 days in May 2007 for violating her probation for a previous traffic offence.
“I haven’t talked to [Paris] in a long time,” Henderson told E! News. “But she’s always doing well.”
Before a brief fling with Aussie surfer Tyler Atkins in 2007, Hilton moved on with Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden.
The pairing delighted Hilton as her best friend Nicole Richie was dating Benji’s twin brother and Good Charlotte bandmate, Joel Madden.
“Yeah, they’re twins,” Hilton told David Letterman in May 2008. “It’s actually perfect. We’re like sisters and they’re twins, so it works out well. Nicole and I would be sisters-in-law. We talk about it. I’m so happy. I’m so in love. I know I want to spend the rest of my life with Benji, my boyfriend. I know I want to be with him forever. If you saw us together, you’d understand. He’s my best friend.”
Unfortunately, they split in November 2008 after dating for nine months. Meanwhile, Richie went on to marry Joel in 2010 and the couple share two children: daughter Harlow, 13, and son Sparrow, 11.
Hilton then dated The Hills alum in 2009 before reportedly dumping him in April 2010. And it’s clear she doesn’t look back fondly on their year-long relationship with the baseball-player-turned-sports-agent.
“I am like so past that,” she told Us Weekly one week after their split. “I don’t even care. I don’t even remember that time in my life. I am over it!”
Another year-long relationship ended for Hilton in June 2011. The socialite was dating Las Vegas nightlife entrepreneur Cy Waits but they didn’t go the distance.
“We’re not together anymore,” Hilton confirmed at the time. “I love him and we remain really good friends … I feel like the relationship ran its course and we’ll see what happens.”
Hilton’s newfound love was likely sparked from her rumoured relationship with Dutch DJ-producer Afrojack — real name Nick van de Wall. The pair were said to be dating in 2012 when they attended many events together including the 2012 Grammys. But he apparently ended things in May that year.
“I’m still in touch with Paris, but musically we’ve taken different paths,” he told Digital Spy 2014. “There was so much bulls–t surrounding everything because she is who she is. I gave her a shot, but eventually, enough is enough.”
Hilton seemed to have more luck with Spanish model River Viiperi, who she was in a relationship with for two years. But again they headed for splitsville in July 2014 after she was seen kissing a mystery man in Malibu.
The heiress found love again with “soulmate” Austrian businessman Thomas Gross, who she met at the Cannes Film Festival in 2015.
“I just feel like I’m in a different place in my life. I live in Switzerland now. I’m in love,” she told E! News at the time. “I don’t know, I finally feel like myself. It’s exciting. [I’m] genuinely happy.”
But two months after gushing about the businessman, they were dunzo in April 2016. She later told told DuJour magazine, “I really don’t have time for a boyfriend,” adding she’d “rather be single”.
Hilton fell head over heels for The Leftovers star Chris Zylka in 2017.
“I’ve never been surer of anything in my life,” she E! News. “He’s so incredible in every way. We’ve actually been friends for a really long time, like the past six years. We just now started being serious in the past few months and it’s really just changed my life in so many ways and brought so much happiness to my life. I feel so safe and he’s so special. We’re best friends and we’re together every minute. I don’t know what else I could ask for. He’s perfect for me.”
One year later, during a ski trip, Zylka proposed on a clifftop in Aspen, Colorado. He gave Hilton a 20-carat engagement ring worth an estimated US $2 million (approx. $2.5 million).
They called off their engagement in November 2018, the same month they were due to get married (she apparently wanted to marry on 11/11).
She later told UK Cosmopolitan that ending her engagement was “the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. I just don’t think [he] was the right person and I feel like I’m an incredible woman and I deserve someone so amazing. It just didn’t feel right. I’ve worked way too hard to just give my life to someone. They have to be perfect.”
Perfection may have come in the form of venture capitalist Carter Reum.
Hilton first went public with her new man in 2020 at a Golden Globes after-party and they’ve been smitten with each other ever since.
“From the moment you walked into my life you changed it in every way,” Hilton wrote on Instagram. “Every day with you has been a blessing. You have shown me what true love really is.
On February 13, 2021, ahead of Valentine’s Day and Hilton’s 40th birthday, Reum popped the question with a ring designed by Louis Cartier’s great-grandson, Jean Dousset. The 20-carat emerald cut diamond ring is believed to be worth US$2 million (approx. $2.5 million).
“When you find your soulmate, you don’t just know it. You feel it. 💫” she wrote on Instagram while announcing the happy news on her birthday. “My love & I have been together since our first date, and for my birthday, he arranged a special trip to tropical paradise. 🏝️
“As we walked to dinner along the beach, Carter led us to a cabana adorned with flowers and dropped to one knee. 💍 I said yes, yes to forever ❤️ There’s no one I’d rather spend forever with. ✨ To see more photos of my birthday dream come true, visit ParisHilton.com. Paris is set to marry Reum on November 11 at a church in Beverly Hills, before heading to a lavish reception held at her late grandfather Barron Hilton’s Bel-Air estate in California.
The couple will have their wedding filmed for her upcoming Peacock TV series Paris in Love, which will debut in the US on the same day as she officially becomes Mrs Reum.
In October, Paris was joined by mum Kathy Hilton and sister Nicky for her lavish bridal shower, while the soon-to-be-wed couple jetted off to Las Vegas in October for a joint bachelor/bachelorette party.
The DJ shut down reports the wedding was purely for her reality show, telling talk show host Jimmy Fallon she wanted to showcase her love for Carter with an extravagant ceremony.
“I wanted fans to see that I found my Prince Charming,” Paris sweetly stated, as she revealed the wedding would be a “three-day affair”.
“Lots of dresses, probably 10. I love outfit changes,” she continued, joking that Reum, 40, will most likely stick to one outfit because “he’s not as high-maintenance as I am.”
