Tan France is expecting!
The Queer Eye star and his husband, Rob France, announced on Instagram they are expecting their first child via surrogate.
“So happy to finally share that WE’RE HAVING A BABY!!” the 37-year-old wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of him cradling his stomach with an ultrasound photoshopped over it.
“No, I’m not pregnant, despite this VERY realistic pic,” he joked. “With the greatest gift/help of the most wonderful surrogate, Rob and I are lucky enough to be on our way to being parents, this summer.”
France said the couple, who married in 2013, had wanted a child for “many years.”
“Our hearts are so full right now,” he gushed. “I cannot wait to hold this baby, and to show him so much love.”
France’s husband, who is an artist, also shared the news to his Instagram, alongside an illustration of a baby.
“We have a beautiful little angel on the way and I didn’t think it was humanly possible to feel like this,” he wrote.
France has spoken of his desire to have children in a past interview with NPR’s Terry Gross in 2019, saying it’s something “he’s wanted since he was 19 or 20.”
“If I’d had a stable relationship at that time, I would have desperately tried to have children,” he told Goss, admitting that “surrogacy for gay men” costs a lot of money.
“I was going to be a stay-at-home dad, which is something I’ve wanted for many, many, many years. And so that was the plan,” he said. “And I actually — crazily, I still want six. I don’t know if that’s going to happen, but yeah, I still want six children.”
We’re sure it’ll be one stylish baby!
