A new rumor from The Ronin says Secret Invasion to film in Scotland. We already know the shoot was planned to be in the U.K. and London was a given. However the outlet has since heard that some of the shoot has also been planned for Scotland. Though, at this time there is no idea of which locations.
The Ronin is hearing that with production expected to begin this month (under the working title Jambalaya) it won’t be just filming in the London area as a portion may spend time in Scotland. However, where in Scotland hasn’t been revealed or for how long.
Of course recently there has been a ton of big budget franchise properties filming in Scotland. In fact, the film industry might be the only genuinely growing industry in my homeland right now. New studios were built and with reportedly easier access to location shoots than some other countries, Scotland has become popular. English speaking, part of the U.K. but cheaper than England with a lower population, and not to mention the absolutely stunning scenery. Luckily weather does not seem to affect shoots as bad as the old days. It can be pretty easy to make a dull day in Glasgow seem like Summer time New York for example.
I did fear the worst when Amazon’s Lord of the Rings show chose New Zealand ahead of Scotland. However that seems to have left opportunities for plenty of other studios to snap up the space. My guess is that this industry will grow and grow and create many opportunities for the youth of today to chase their dreams without having to move away. I’m kinda jealous I’m not 18 again with the world at my feet.
Not much is known about Secret Invasion‘s plot other than the obvious connections to the comic of the same name. Since we know the show will star Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, that gives us even more reason to look at the comic book inspirations given both actors connection in Marvel with Skrulls. I sincerely hope this one pans out to be true. However I do trust The Ronin who are gaining a great reputation for accurate exclusives.
The rumor of Secret Invasion to film in Scotland may not interest some readers, but I’m loving it. Give any thoughts you have below.
