HOLLYWOOD – Zack Snyder’s Justice League release has provoked a backlash calling for the release of the Whedon cut.
Following the success of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, many were hoping that the storied saga had come to a close. However, it now appears that there is a new internet campaign. This time a hashtag #ReleasetheWhedonCut is trending all over Tumblr, gaining literally tens of likes. One user posted a picture of a sad tree with a message saying ‘Me Wantee Joss Whedon.’ Film critic Joshua Perlantapant told the Studio Exec:
Hey, we all love Zack Snyder. Well, except for all of us who don’t. But I think what is being forgotten here is that Joss Whedon’s Justice League wasn’t really his Justice League at all. In fact, it would be better to look at it as Warner Bros’ Justice League. Wouldn’t it make sense to give Joss another bite of the apple? Can you imagine how it could go back and forth for another few years? It would be so exciting. And in the meantime other directors can concentrate on Batman origin stories – what did happen to his parents? – and something about the Joker.
Warner Bros and HBO are currently in talks about something and they’ve ordered food in so who knows? There’s also a very real possibility that the Coen Brothers might well be called in to do their own take on the now much re edited and reshot movie.
Joel Coen said:
The Justice League movie has become the crucible by which all directors will now be judged. I don’t think anyone will be truly happy until they’d had an opportunity to remake the movie or at the least dabble in different ratios.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is currently available EXCLUSIVELY on Netflix or something.
